Trump's National Security Adviser Warns China Wants Your Personal Information

President Trump’s new national security adviser is warning saying that by allowing Chinese telecommunications company Huawei to build their next-generation 5G networks, the US may have to go through an information security doomsday.

He warns that if the US allows Huawei in, it could give China’s communist government backdoor access to its citizens’ most sensitive data. He added, “So every medical record, every social media post, every e-mail, every financial transaction, and every citizen of the country with cloud computing and artificial intelligence can be sucked up out of Huawei into massive servers in China.” He further said, “This isn’t a theoretical threat.”

The Trump presidency has taken measures to keep Huawei and other companies with ties to the Chinese government out of U.S. telecommunications systems. It’s working hard to convince partners to do the same. As of now, Australia, New Zealand and Japan block Huawei. However, other associates such as Canada and Britain have said they are open to allowing the company build some less sensitive 5G networks.

On this, Trump’s National Security advisor warned the associates that it would be difficult to have full intelligence-sharing information with a partner whose network is tied to Beijing.

His concerns emphasise the complexity of current relations between the United States and China.

The Trump administration is in the pain of a bitter trade war with Beijing. Trump administration has forced visa restrictions on Chinese officials deemed to be involved in human rights abuses. Also, they have offered a $2 billion U.S. weapons sale to Taipei, which Beijing opposes to, saying that Taiwan is part of greater China.
