Bengals' John Ross to reportedly miss multiple games with shoulder injury, derailing breakout season

Things are turning out to be worse for the Cincinnati Bengals’ offense.

As per Mike Garafolo, John Ross, Bengal’s wide receiver is going to miss few games because of a shoulder injury he sustained during the Monday game against Pittsburgh Steelers. Garafolo also mentions that he could miss a month.

During the Monday night’s game cornerback Joe Haden threw Ross to the ground after making a catch. He did an exit from the match and did not come back, finishing with three catches for 36 yards on the night.

During the four weeks through this season, Ross who is considered to be a bright spot on a Bengals offense has not scored more than 20 points in a single game. Against Seattle Seahawks in the season opener, he had a great performance with seven catches for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Following which against the San Francisco 49ers he had four catches for 112 yards and a touchdown.

During the four games of the season, Ross has posted more receiving yards than he had in each of the past two seasons. He could not record a catch in the three games being active during his rookie season, however, after that, he had 21 receptions for 210 yards and seven touchdowns in 2018.

The team now will have to rely more on Tyler Boyd and Auden Tate to bear the load. Boyd had 10 catches for 122 yards in Week 2, but was held to just 33 yards on Monday night. Tate had six catches for 88 yards in Week 3 and led the Bengals in receiving with four catches for 50 yards against the Steelers.
