Apple is launching it’s next-generation iPhone – iPhone 11, which is going to hit the store shelves on September 20, 2019. Release of iPhone 11 coincides with the grand reopening of the company’s newly renovated Fifth Avenue flagship in New York City.
The timeline adheres to Apple’s traditional release schedule, where we typically see the company announces new hardware on a Tuesday, start preorders that Friday, and begin deliveries and starts sale in stores a week later.
We may expect Apple to announce a range of new iPhone handsets, refreshed Apple Watch models, Tracking Tags with augmented reality integration and a more powerful Apple TV at a special media event on September 10, 2019.
Apple is expecting the preorders to go live from Friday, September 13, deliveries of the preordered devices are expected to arrive on September 20. Apple Stores and Authorized retailers in the participating launch countries will commence the sales of the devices from September 20.
Having the latest hardware in the stock, Apple is planning to invite customers into the iconic glass cube at its newly renovated Fifth Avenue flagship on September 20, the person said. In preparation of the reopening, workers stripped the massive glass structure of its protective cladding on Friday.
They have completely dismantled the cubes and replaced them as a part of the renovation effort, the person said. Demolition of the glass landmark itself presumably set Apple back approximately $2 million, a figure obscured by material and installation costs of the new structure.
Along with the restructured glass cube entryway, Apple’s premier New York outlet exceeded to almost double underground floor space to 77,000 square feet, enough room to incorporate “Apple Store 2.0” furniture and fixtures, and a rumoured Beats 1 radio broadcasting zone.
The company is yet to announce the official opening date for the Fifth Avenue store.
