Microsoft Windows 10 update is breaking Search feature, fix coming in mid-September

Microsoft confirmed a new Windows 10 bug where PC face high CPU usage from SearchUI.exe when searching.

Are you unable to use the search functionality after a latest Windows 10 update? If yes, you are not alone.

Microsoft has confirmed in its September update log that some version 1903 users of Windows 10 have been getting difficulties with Windows Desktop Search feature after they installed the latest cumulative KB4512941 update. The bug is also draining the CPU on Windows 10 devices confirmed by the company.

“Microsoft has been receiving reports that a small number of users may not be able get the results while using Windows Desktop Search and may also observe high CPU usage from SearchUI.exe when searching after installing KB4512941. This issue is only reported by people using devices in which searching the web from Windows Desktop Search was disabled,” the company said in its update log.

The resolution for the Windows Desktop Search bug shall be available in mid-September as per Microsoft.

Not only this Search bug but Windows 10 users are also facing some other issues after the recent updates. A lot of Windows 10 users complained about facing difficulties with Bluetooth connectivity last month. A few users experienced, Bluetooth connected devices delivering bad quality sound.

“You also notice an entry under the Sound, video and game controllers option under Device Manager for Microsoft Bluetooth A2dp Source that displays a yellow exclamatory mark icon,” Microsoft acknowledged the same on its support page.
